Blockchain uses decentralization and cryptographic hashing to store data publicly and in chronological order which makes the history of any digital asset unalterable and transparent. It is referred to as Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) because it authenticates the transaction and safeguards it from tampering and every transaction in this ledger is authorized by the digital signature of the owner.
